Data and code for: Rainwater Without a Statistical Category: Water Accounting and Sponge-City Policy in Fujian and Guangdong, China

This deposit contains the data and analysis code behind the study "Rainwater Without a Statistical Category: Water Accounting and Sponge-City Policy in Fujian and Guangdong, China". It includes: (i) the city-level panel compiled from the Fujian and Guangdong water resources bulletins and statistical yearbooks for 2019-2024 (171 city-year observations, 30 prefecture-level cities), including the reconstruction and validation of the Guangdong series for 2019 and 2020, which was recovered by optical character recognition of scanned bulletins; (ii) the clause-level coding of eleven national, provincial and municipal policy and standard documents; (iii) the derived result tables; and (iv) the analysis code (Python). The purpose of the deposit is to allow the reconstruction of the Guangdong series and the reported models to be checked and reproduced.
