Palaeoclimate records draw on climate information which is extracted and analysed from the natural environment. The SEARCH (South East Australia Recent Climate History) project draws on palaeoclimatic data from between 0 AD and 2011, from

-Speleothems

This dataset contains data on Speleothems, which are mineral deposits formed in limestone or dolostone caves in Australia. The dataset includes information about their shape and colour, which are affected by the rate and direction of water seepage, levels of acid in the water, temperature and humidity content of a cave, above ground climate, annual rainfall and other factors.
