Lowered Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (LADCP) data from cruise JR18004 onboard RRS James Clark Ross, January-February 2019.

This is a dataset of lowered ADCP data from cruise JR18004 (11th January - 12th February 2019) onboard RRS James Clark Ross, using a pair of uplooker/downlooker units on the CTD rosette. The instruments used were both 300kHz Teledyne/RDI Workhorse Monitor LADCPs, run with zero blanking distance, 8 m bins and a staggered 1.3/1.5 ping rate. Profiles were collected alongside CTD data as part of the ORCHESTRA programme, to support work around Discovery Bank and Orkney Passage in the Scotia Sea of the Southern Ocean. The data were processed version IX 13 of the Matlab-based software LDEO developed by Martin Visbeck and maintained by Andreas Thurnherr at the Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory.
