This project describes the genomic characterization of a Serratia isolate recovered from an endotracheal aspirate during a study evaluating the Bruker IR Biotyper for discrimination between different Serratia species. Hybrid whole-genome assembly (Illumina and Oxford Nanopore Technologies) and TYGS-based comparative genomic analysis suggest that this isolate represents a phylogenetically distinct subspecies of Serratia nevei that has not been described to date.
