Southern New Zealand earthquake data from SOSA network, with event waveforms, for J. Geophys. Res. 2024JB030371

This archive has data from the paper, “Deep and clustered microseismicity at the edge of southern New Zealand's transpressive plate boundary” (Williams et al., 2025; JGR 2024JB030371). The research presented in this paper determines and interprets hypocenters across Southland (Figure 1). The catalog of events detected by SOSA and all phase arrival observations used in this research, including SOSA, Fiord22, and Geonet data, are provided in this archive. Additionally, the waveform data from the temporary networks for each event are provided. Hypocenters are in the Simul hypocentre file with X,Y coordinates, error parameters and quality code. hypnzwRsosa3u.xyze Station locations and elevations for Otago-Cosa networks and permanent broadbands are in stanzwRsosa.gmt Travel-time observations of P and S-P in simul phs format are sosa3u.simphs Arrival-time observations for P and S-P times , with their residuals are in the detailed hypocenter output in hypo71 list format aznzwRsosa3u.list The tarfile sosa_events_mseed.tar has cut waveforms for SOSA and Fiord22 temporary networks, with one mseed file per event. The station xmls for SOSA and Fiord22 are also included in files fiord22_station_2023-09-08.xml sosa_station_2025-04-10.xml
