Stable isotope data for fish and invertebrates in floodplain lakes of the Usumacinta River, Mexico

This dataset contains stable isotope ratios (d13C and d15N) for fish and macroinvertebrates collected across four floodplain lakes with contrasting hydrological connectivity in the Usumacinta River Basin, Mexico. Data were collected during three seasonal periods: dry, early rainy, and late rainy seasons. The dataset includes taxonomic identification, functional groups, and isotopic values used to analyze food web dynamics and the influence of flood cycles on consumer production. This data supports the findings published in "Seasonal variations in food web dynamics of floodplain lakes with contrasting hydrological connectivity in the Southern Gulf of Mexico" (Hydrobiologia, 2021).
