Dataset for "Effects of Gas Compression on Unstable Drainage Through Deformable Porous Media"
收藏资源简介:
This dataset supports the manuscript "Effects of Gas Compression on Unstable Drainage Through Deformable Porous Media" submitted to Journal of Geophysical Research: Solid Earth. The dataset includes experimental raw flow-pattern images, HM–DEM simulation outputs, and Excel figure-source data used to generate the pressure, actual inflow-rate, fractal-dimension, energy-partitioning, and injection-efficiency results reported in the manuscript. The folder experimental_raw_figures contains raw experimental flow-pattern images. In the file names, V denotes the syringe-pump gas-reservoir volume and Q denotes the imposed injection rate. Specifically, V25 and V300 correspond to gas-reservoir volumes of 25 mL and 300 mL, respectively; Q01, Q1, and Q10 correspond to injection rates of 0.1 mL/min, 1 mL/min, and 10 mL/min, respectively. The folder simulations_for_k10_with_varying_C contains HM–DEM simulation outputs for the calibrated stiffness case k10 under different compression numbers. The folder simulations_for_stiffness_tests contains HM–DEM simulation outputs used for stiffness-sensitivity and model-validation analyses. Each simulation folder contains analysis_data and draw_data. The analysis_data folder contains time-history and summary output files used for pressure, flow-rate, saturation, volume, and energy analyses. The draw_data folder contains data recorded at selected flow stages for reconstructing fluid–grain displacement patterns. The Excel files provide the figure-source data used in the manuscript: - in_pressure_Figures_8a_9a_10a.xlsx: injection-pressure data. - in_flow_rate_for_Figures_8b_9b_10b.xlsx: actual inflow-rate data. - fractal_dimension_analysis_for_Figure_5_Figure_7.xlsx: fractal-dimension data. - energy_analysis_for_Figures_11ab_12ab_13ab_14.xlsx: energy-partitioning and injection-efficiency data. Case naming convention: Ca21 = log10(Ca*) = -2.1. Ca31 = log10(Ca*) = -3.1. Ca41 = log10(Ca*) = -4.1. C63 = log10(C) = 6.3. C67 = log10(C) = 6.7. C70 = log10(C) = 7.0. C73 = log10(C) = 7.3. C83 = log10(C) = 8.3. k1, k5, k10, k20, and k100 denote contact stiffness reduction factors of 1, 5, 10, 20, and 100, respectively. “energy” means that the simulation output includes energy-related quantities. Experimental image processing followed the approach described by Ke et al. (2024), doi.org/10.1063/5.0242677, in which the initial pre-invasion image is subtracted from subsequent images to remove background noise and identify invaded regions. Simulation restuls carried out basied on HM-DEM model provided by Dai et al. (2025), flow displacement pattern generation code and fractal dimension code shared in doc, and other software reltaed can check Itasca PFC2D and ImageJ.
