资源简介:
This data was for the study aimed to determine the risk of all-cause mortality and morbidity in patients with cardiovascular disease (CVD), comparing those with and without HIV infection, and to assess whether mortality differed by HIV status during hospitalization for major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE), including stroke, acute myocardial infarction (AMI), and heart failure, in two hospitals in northern Uganda. The data, part of a larger non-communicable disease (NCD) dataset, were retrospectively collected from two hospitals in northern Uganda to compare outcomes in CVD patients with and without HIV who were hospitalized between January 2015 and January 2022. Patient records were accessed from July 12th, 2022, to June 12th, 2023, and again from July 21st, 2023, to July 21st, 2024.We hypothesized that among patients hospitalized with MACE, comorbidity with HIV infection increases the risk of in-hospital mortality. In addition, we examined whether HIV infection modifies the association between major adverse events and all-cause mortality during hospitalization, i.e., whether HIV interacts with specific MACE components to alter mortality outcomes
