Japanese Onomatopoeia Translation Loss Dataset

This dataset contains annotated examples of Japanese onomatopoeic expressions and their English translations. The dataset focuses on cases where expressive or affective meaning is partially lost during translation. Each entry includes the original Japanese onomatopoeia, the source sentence, its English translation, and annotation fields describing the degree and type of semantic nuance loss. Additional labels capture linguistic and emotional characteristics of the expression.
