Japanese Onomatopoeia Translation Loss Dataset
收藏资源简介:
This dataset contains annotated examples of Japanese onomatopoeic expressions and their English translations. The dataset focuses on cases where expressive or affective meaning is partially lost during translation. Each entry includes the original Japanese onomatopoeia, the source sentence, its English translation, and annotation fields describing the degree and type of semantic nuance loss. Additional labels capture linguistic and emotional characteristics of the expression. The dataset is intended as a resource for research in natural language processing, machine translation evaluation, cross-lingual semantics, and expressive language modeling. It may also be useful for studying how sound-symbolic expressions and affective meaning are preserved or degraded across languages.
