Re-emergence of cholera in Haiti linked to environmental V. cholerae O1 strains

In this study, we investigated the origin of the most recent cholera outbreak by obtaining the full genome sequence of V. cholerae O1 collected from Haitian individuals betwenn October and November 2022 with profuse watery diarrhea, vomiting and hypovolemic shock. Moreover, we investigate the phylogenetic relationship of these recent strains to previous strains collected from Haiti in an effort to determine if this new emergence is related to previous strains circulating in the Haiti
