Recently, Gasdermin family has attracted considerable attention and its classical molecule GSDMD has been shown to exacerbate cisplatin renal injury by promoting renal tubular epithelial cell death and inflammatory response. As a member of the Gasdermin family, GSDME is abundantly expressed in renal tubular epithelial cells, but the function diversity of GSDME needs further investigation, and whether it plays a role in cisplatin-induced renal injury remain to be elucidated.
