Restoration of Key Waterway and Habitat Linkage Site - Wrights Creek Stage 3

This project will work along a section of Wrights Creek which is an effective wildlife corridor to the surrounding Lamb Range and Mount Peter Conservation area. Due to upstream agricultural practices, chemical runoff, erosion and invasive weeds, Wrights Creek’s riparian section, water quality and important habitat has been negatively impacted. This project will target habitat degradation and loss along Wrights Creek and directly benefit inhabiting endangered species and the Port of Cairns and Trinity Inlet further downstream. To do so, the Green Army team will specifically address pest and weed management, bank stabilisation and the reintroduction of native plant species to improve the health, connectivity and biodiversity of Wrights Creek.
