VPRS 10901 Muster Books

The muster books include the following information in relation to prisoners: local prison number; date of arrival; registered number; name; location; sentence; and information regarding property. The muster books contain administrative information relating to muster sheets and earnings slips. The period covered by the books for this function was 1942-1944.Unit 1 was used for two other purposes. It seems to have been used to record prisoner file movements to Head Office and back. It includes prisoners' names, dates and remarks. The period covered for this function was 1908-1929.Unit 1 was used also to record the consumption of water or gas each day. The period covered for this function was 1900-1902.
