The physical and chemical properties, phylogeny, classification, gene structure, chromosomal location, gene expression profile, and function of WRKY genes were identified based on the whole genome of E. breviscapus. In addition, integrated metabolomic and transcriptomic analyses were performed to study the expression patterns of WRKY genes and flavonoid metabolites in response to exogenous hormone treatments. This study uncovered the regulatory mechanisms and functional identification of WRKY transcription factors involved in the growth, development, and flavonoid biosynthesis of E. breviscapus
