Fill from a hearth fragment at the Rockshelter Ridge site (41BS1533) in Brewster County,
Texas, was floated to recover charcoal for radiocarbon dating. This hearth fragment was
eroding out of the side of a gully. The site consists of a series of 14 rockshelters, and artifacts
from the site date from possibly as early as 6,000 BP to approximately 500 years BP. Charcoal
from the hearth was processed for AMS radiocarbon dating.
