资源简介:
Pollen, phytolith, and macrofloral remains were examined from a recent nonhuman
coprolite recovered at 35-JE-49. This site is located in the extreme
southern portion of the Columbia Basin Province. A :rockshelter provided
sufficient protection from the elements to allow preservation of this coprolite.
Examination of pollen, phytolith, and macrofloral remains from the coprolite was
undertaken to identify plants consumed, elements of the local vegetation, and to
provide clues that be interpreted to indicate what animal left this coprolite.
Although a radiocarbon age of 360 + 90 BP is reported for the coprolite, the
coprolite was recovered from a depth suggestive of a far greater age.
