Size 93/4 in. by 7 in.; foll. 284. Six lines in a page. An Abridgement of the Wiḳâyah, commonly called مختصر الوقایة, by (ṢADR AL-SHARÎ’AH) ‘Ubaidallah b. Mas’ûd b. Tâj al-sharî’ah, the author of the preceding commentary. It is sometimes styled النقایة, though this title is not mentioned in the author’s preface. Cf. Ḥ. Kh. vi. 373, and Aumer, Hdss. Münch. 92. It has been published by Mirza Kazem-Beg, Kazan, A.H. 1260 (=A.H. 1845). Well written in a large hand, by Molla Muḥammad ‘Alawî b. Molla Ibrâhîm Samarḳndî, in Rabî’ I., 1045. Copious notes have been added in some places, and occasionally written on leaves inserted for the purpose. Fol. 1, which is in a different hand, is reversed. Slightly injured by damp. [Johnson.]
