资源简介:
BACKGROUND MIAF Title Sequence was commissioned by Malcolm Turner (festival director), Melbourne International Animation Festival (MIAF). First screened: 2012. Additional animation by Hung Lin. The MIAF Title Sequence was created using an original Java-based software platform named Lyrical Gangster. This software developed an approach that intrinsically differs from time-based FX in other platforms in the field. Iterative, compounding functions performed on images allow visual feedback, where the artist can affect compounding interventions in the image at every frame. This method of processing digital images was not available in any known software at the time. Stewart Haines and I specifically developed this software to extend the functions of Adobe Photoshop for the production of generative, time-based image sequences. CONTRIBUTION TO FIELD MIAF Title Sequence used Practice Based Research (Candy) to develop new knowledge in the field of Generative Art (Galanter). This knowledge and research also included Practice Led research (Candy), where innovative means of creating digital media were developed outside established methods. Results of this research were presented at the 2012 SAS conference, The Animation Machine. The conference sought to: "...(reflect) the wide range of processes, technologies, histories... in animation... The animation machine also relates to the multitude of animation production processes - from animating technologies (animation stands, cameras, computers), through to the animator's individual creative practice.." (SAS proceedings) SIGNIFICANCE Melbourne International Animation Festival, ACMI, Melbourne, Australia. 2012 (supported by Screen Australia and the Australian Centre for the Moving Image).
