SEG002 - Seget - Basic words and phrases

This dataset contains some basic words and phrases in Seget, prepared and read by Amelia Klasin (born 1979). These words and phrases were written by Amelia Klasin, based on a session in Salawati that she had participated in the night before, in which the conversation questionnaire method was used (Dialogue C, 'Seeing the suster'; see item SAL011 in the Salawati collection in this sub-community). The session was recorded on 6 December 2019, in Kalobo village (Salawati island, Raja Ampat regency, Southwest Papua province, Indonesia). There are only photographs of the fieldnotes, as these were written by the speaker in her personal notebook. There are additionally two photographs of Amelia, her husband Naim Mili, and their daughter, taken during the session by the researcher. This dataset relates to the British Academy Postdoctoral Fellowship 'Synchronic and diachronic investigations in Raja Ampat-South Halmahera, a little-known subbranch of Austronesian' (PF19\100004); additional fieldwork funds were provided by a Moray Endowment Fund from the University of Edinburgh.
