Recombinant Antigen of Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome Virus (PRRSV) Assessment in Immune Response Regulation

Porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome (PRRS) causes significant economic losses in the swine industry worldwide. An outbreak of PRRSV occurred in November 2012 in Switzerland (CH), a traditional PRRSV-free area. Currently, vaccination is the most effective and practical method to prevent infectious diseases. Here we designed two types of recombinant proteins mainly from antigenic epitopes of PRRSV and examined these two types of recombinant proteins for their capabilities to mediate porcine alveolar macrophages (PAMs) polarization and Th cells activation regarded as a vaccine candidate.
