As a global comparative research initiative, GENNOVATE examines how gender norms and agency influence the adoption of agricultural and natural resource management innovations among men, women, and youth. This collection comprises qualitative datasets from 108 rural communities across 23 countries, representing over 7,000 participants from diverse socioeconomic and age groups. By capturing focus group discussions and individual interviews, the data provides a cross-contextual analysis of how gendered expectations—or social rules—shape an individual’s ability to access, adapt, and benefit from agricultural advancements.
