Antibiotic treatment that is similar to human infant commonly received was given to newborn piglets for 14 days. Faecal samples were collected at day 7, and ileum and distal colon contents were collected at day 21 and 49. Genomic DNA was extracted, PCR amplicon library was generated (16S rRNA gene; V1-V3), and 454-pyrosequencing was performed.
