Glacier names

This dataset contains a list of glacier names in various languages all in lowercase but with retained punctuation. Note that old, alternative, and error-some spellings are intentionally included.<br><br><b>Biases</b><br>The current version of this dataset contains almost only western European languages.<br><b>Creation</b><b><br></b>This dataset was created for the Glaciers in Archives (glaciersinarchives.org) project and the names have mainly been sourced from Wikidata, national authorities, and Europeana but also include names found in other cultural heritage aggregators as well manually added names.<br><b>Exclusion</b><br>Some Glacier names have been explicitly excluded most commonly because they are the same as common words. For example "first" from First Glacier is excluded. The list of explicitly excluded names is available in blocklist.txt.
