Aquifer sediment microcosms from a contaminated site in CA were constructed and fed either vinyl chloride (VC) or cis-dichloroethene (cDCE) and incubated under low dissolved oxygen (DO) conditions (<1 mg/l DO). The purpose of this sequencing study was to track changes in the microbial community changes microcosms developed VC and cDCE oxidation behavior under low DO conditions. The data could be useful in identifying microbial taxa that might participate in low DO VC and cDCE oxidation and help us better understand the potential for natural attenuation of VC and cDCE at this site.
