Analyzing the Function of Spo11 during Meiosis Using a Light-Activated Endonuclease. Saccharomyces cerevisiae

Homologous recombination is a finely regulated phenomenon that occurs during meiotic prophase. In this study, we attempted to analyze factors such as Spo11 involved in this phenomenon and the repair mechanisms associated with recombination from genomic structure, by introducing double-strand breaks (DSBs) into DNA at artificial timing using the TAQing system, which utilizes a light-activated restriction enzyme.
