Research of the Educational Resources Given to Mental Handicapped Adults (above 20). Pilot Project in “Møre og Romsdal” the School Year 94-95, 1995

The purpose of this project was to map the goals, organizing and use of resources in primary and lower secondary education for intellectually disabled adults (over 20 years old) in Møre og Romsdal. Changes in allocations of educational resources to this group was especially examined and assessed after the verdict of the so called “Malvik-case” (The Norwegian Supreme Court 02.07.93). This survey was a pilot project where 23 of 38 municipalities in the county participated. In total, the study showed that there were little changes in the allocation of resources. Where changes occurred, it was just as likely to have occurred because of an ailing local government economy as a direct result of the Supreme Court verdict.
