Iran_Quarterly_Macroeconomic_Dataset_2005_2023

This dataset contains 72 quarterly observations covering the period from 1384Q1 to 1401Q4, based on the Iranian Solar Hijri calendar, corresponding to Gregorian presentation labels from 2005Q2 to 2023Q1. The dataset includes the macroeconomic variables used in the empirical analysis and an author-constructed media index based on four Iranian newspapers: Donyaye Eghtesad, Iran, Kayhan, and Ettelaat. The macroeconomic data were obtained from the Time Series Database of the Central Bank of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The media index was independently constructed by the authors. Further details on its construction are provided in the Appendix of the accompanying article. The econometric analysis uses the original Solar Hijri quarterly observations. Gregorian labels are provided for presentation purposes only and do not indicate temporal conversion or re-aggregation into Gregorian quarters.
