Seedling establishment dataset (2023-2024)

Germination and establishment data for seeds of eight woody temperate species (<i>Acer rubrum</i>, <i>Acer saccharum</i>, <i>Celastrus orbiculatu</i><i>s</i>, <i>Lonicera maacki</i><i>i</i>, <i>Ostrya virginiana</i>, <i>Picea glauca</i>, <i>Pinus strobus</i>, <i>Rhamnus cathartica</i>). Seeds were cold-stratified (4C) for either 80, 100, or 120 days at 4C, experienced a false spring event for seven days (18C) in a growth chamber, and then experienced either an extreme-cold event (-14C) or control (4C). Following these experimental treatments, seeds were moved to a greenhouse and were monitored for approximately 60 days.
