Dataset for: Methane emissions from temperate rice cropping systems: a quantitative systematic review of controlling variables and empirical modeling of emission factors

This dataset contains harmonized field data on methane (CH₄) emission factors from temperate rice cropping systems, compiled through a quantitative systematic review of the peer-reviewed literature. The dataset includes the response variable (CH₄ emission factor) and a set of climatic, soil, and agronomic explanatory variables used in the statistical models presented in the associated research article. Data were standardized across studies to ensure consistency of units, variable definitions, and categorical levels. Each observation is linked to its original source through the corresponding DOI reported in the dataset.
