Janthinobacterium kumbetense strain:LVF5 Genome sequencing

Janthinobacterium kumbetense is a Gram-negative environmental bacterium belonging to the genus Janthinobacterium, whose members are commonly found in freshwater and soil environments and are known for producing the violet pigment violacein, a bioactive secondary metabolite with antimicrobial properties. In this project, strain LVF5 was isolated from the Bremke River near Osterode am Harz, Germany, and sequenced using Oxford Nanopore long-read sequencing to generate a complete genome assembly. The genome expands the limited genomic resources available for J. kumbetense and provides a reference for comparative and ecological studies of the genus Janthinobacterium.
