This dataset provides a three-dimensional human airway geometry extending from the upper airway to the 16th generation of bronchial branching. The airway from the upper airway to the 8th generation was reconstructed from anonymized human CT imaging data. No patient-identifiable information is included in this dataset. The geometry has been processed, segmented, and surface-smoothed for CFD simulation purposes. From the 9th to the 16th generation, distal airways were spatially compensated using artificial tubular extensions following the morphometric structure of the Weibel lung model, in order to approximate realistic branching continuity while maintaining computational feasibility. This airway geometry was developed at the ITO research group, Faculty of Engineering Sciences, Kyushu University, Japan.http://www.phe-kyudai.jp/ Intellectual property of the processed airway geometry belongs to the laboratory. The dataset is shared for academic and non-commercial research purposes to promote reproducibility in computational airway modeling studies. Users of this dataset are requested to cite the associated publication when using the model for CFD, deposition, or transport simulations.
