资源简介:
This dataset was generated from an experimental study aimed at validating the triglyceride–glucose (TyG) index as a rapid and practical biomarker for assessing insulin resistance in sows during late gestation and lactation.
The dataset includes key biochemical variables, particularly fasting plasma glucose and triglyceride concentrations, used to calculate the TyG index as an indirect indicator of insulin resistance. In addition, it integrates complementary metabolic indicators, productive performance variables, and physiological records collected across different reproductive stages.
The experimental design was conducted under controlled swine production conditions, with longitudinal sampling during critical physiological periods (late gestation and lactation). This structure enables dynamic evaluation of the relationships among metabolic status, voluntary feed intake, energy balance, and productive performance.
The dataset is organized to support advanced statistical analyses, including mixed models for repeated measures, partial correlations, and regression-based approaches aimed at validating the predictive capacity of the TyG index relative to traditional metabolic indicators.
This dataset contributes to the understanding of metabolic physiology in reproductive sows, particularly in the context of insulin resistance and its implications for feed intake regulation, metabolic efficiency, and productivity. Furthermore, it provides evidence supporting the application of the TyG index as a practical, low-cost diagnostic tool in animal production systems, extending its use beyond human clinical research into livestock physiology.
