Parker River Plum Island Sound Estuarine Surface Area and Volume Data

The Plum Island Ecosystem was originally called
The Plum Island Sound Comparative Ecosystems
Research Program and was part of the The Land Margin
Ecosystems Research Program developed by the
National Science Foundation (NSF). LMER was
started to help answer pressing scientific and
societal questions about the present functions and
future changes of coastal environments. The goals
of LMER are to increase the understanding of the
organization and function of land-margin
ecosystems, the linkages between these systems and
adjacent terrestrial and marine ecosystems, and
the impacts of major natural environmental
perturbations in these regions.

This data set contains width, depth, distance (from
the Parker River Dam), volume, and surface area
data. Part of Long-Term Ecological Research site (PIE). Began as a
LMER Plum Island Sound Comparative Ecosystems Study (PISCES).
