Data Documentation for: Participatory Research Map, a collection and visualization of participatory research projects at Berlin University Alliance (BUA) partner universities

This dataset is the result of a data collection survey for the Berlin University Alliance (BUA) Participatory Research Map as part of the "Open Science Magnifiers" project, funded by BUA Objective 3, and the BUA Laboratory for Transdisciplinary Research (TD-Lab). The project aims to monitor and visualise various Open Science practices and activities at BUA universities. In this part, Open Engagement (or Societal Engagement) was put into focus as one of the Open Science pillar by the UNESCO Open Science Recommendation (2021). The data represents a unique collection of recent Participatory Research related projects at BUA. It contains both active and ongoing projects (as of June 2026). The projects represent the following approaches: Citizen Science, Transdisciplinary Research, Living Lab, Patient Engagement, Collaborative Action Research, and Other.
