Rhizosphere bacteria of desert plants in the region of Minqin County

The rhizosphere microbiome structure and potential function of two typical desert plants, Nitraria tangutorum and Haloxylon aphyllum, were completely characterized across the entire spatial geographic area from oasis transition zone to semi-desert area to the desert edge in the region of Minqin County, Tengger Desert, and Badain Jaran Desert, which aimed to elucidate the diversity and spatial geographic distribution characteristics of rhizosphere bacteria of desert plants as well as functional strains and functional genes, reveal the enrichment patterns and community assembly mechanisms of rhizosphere bacteria in desert regions, clarify the ecological status and distribution patterns of core rhizosphere bacterial communities. This work has important guiding significance for biofertilizers or new microbial preparations development, vegetation restoration of in desert areas, soil improvement, and rational planting during the processing of desertification control.
