Large-scale germline genome data for ciliates is predominantly limited to the few model taxa, in part due to the ease of culturing and robust methods for isolating germline DNA. To provide the basis to work around these limitations, we employed single-cell genomics and transcriptomics to gather large-scale information on the germline genome architecture of Chilodonella uncinata.
