Mass calibration of SPT clusters: re-observation of missing pointings

(Abridged) The South Pole Telescope (SPT) galaxy cluster survey identified viathe SunyaevZel.dovich (SZ) effect 158 massive clusters from its initial 720deg2 area. We are proposing to combine XMMNewton, SPT, and weak lensingmeasurements for a sample of 20 intermediate redshift (0.3<z<0.5) uniformlyselected by their SPT detection significance from 560 deg2 survey area. Theseclusters will also have groundbased observations weak lensing measurements andin some cases also dynamical masses. Here we propose to complete the Xrayfollowup of the intermediate redshift calibration sample to uniform sensitivityand selection by observing the last 4 clusters without Xray data andreobserving 4 clusters strongly affected by soft proton flaring. truncated!, Please see actual data for full text [truncated!, Please see actual data for full text]
