State of the Community Report for Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington, Texas Metropolitan Area: 2020 Population and Economic Technical Report

In order to understand current and projected needs within a community, planners utilize methodological techniques to help understand projected demands within a community. To do so, this report observes demographic and regional economic data to overview the projected needs of the Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington Metropolitan Statistical Area (DFW MSA). Demographic data used will show analysis of population size and change, composition by age and race, population projections, and more. Additionally, this report ties economic analysis to show features such as job type and job growth in order to understand industry needs and the economic basis of the region. Following the economic report, there is an analysis of the social vulnerability of the DFW MSA. We conclude by offering methods to alleviate social inequality and social vulnerability within the area. This report is designed to be a transparent document that can facilitate communication among stakeholders about best steps moving forward within the DFW metropolitan area.
