资源简介:
This file is data for “Tactile stimuli induce deimatic anti-predator displays in ringneck snakes”. The species is ringneck snakes (<i>Diadophis punctatus</i>). “SnakeID” is the unique numerical ID for each snake. For “Sex”, M=male and F=female. “DateCollected” is the collection date for each individual. “Gravid” indicates whether female snakes contained eggs, with 1=gravid and 0= not gravid. “Scars” indicates the presence of scars, with 1= scars present and 0= no scars. “SVL(mm)” is snout-vent length in mm. “TailLength(mm)” is the length of the tail in mm. “Mass(g)” is the body mass in g. “Ecdysis” indicates that a snake was shedding skin, with 1= shedding and 0=not shedding. “CollectingBodyBodyTempC” indicates the body temperatrure during capture. All other columns contain are binary variables that indicate the presence (1) or absence (0) of behaviors (“Flee”, “Bite”, “TailCoil”, “MuskDefecation”, “LipCurl”) exhibited during collection (“Collecting” in variable name), processing (“Processing” in variable name), or tactile stimuli trials (“T” in variable name). Note that not all behaviors are present for each section of the study. Tactile stimuli include a clear plastic rod (“Clear” in variable name), a brush (“Brush” in variable name), covering with a gloved hand (“Cover” in variable name) and picking up with a gloved hand (“Pickup” in variable name).
