Jonckheere-Terpstra tests were performed on the deletion size of the two variable loci. N is the number of samples, Standardized JT is the test statistic, and P value denotes the significance, which is marked with an asterisk if below the threshold P value of 0.025 (see Materials and Methods). First outbreak year and distance from Taiwan were not significantly correlated (Pearson correlation coefficient = 0.432, P = 0.141).
