Municipal councils had the power under the Local Government Act to make valuations of all properties in the municipality. These valuations were used for the levying of municipal rates. This volume contains the name and occupation of both owner and occupier, a description ogf the property, the net annual value of the property and the total number of persons living on the property or in the premises rated.Subject to further research.
