From 2003 to 2016, field station-based measurements and analyses were conducted strictly in accordance with the Code for River Discharge Measurement (GB 50179) near the dam of the Three Gorges Reservoir during both flood and dry seasons. Discharge measurements were performed semi-automatically or fully automatically using hydrological cableways, hydrological survey vessels and other unmanned carriers, via traditional methods such as current meters, acoustic techniques such as ADCP and electromagnetic methods such as radar, yielding a dataset of inflow and outflow discharge data.
