Metadata from the simulation of future land use and land cover scenarios for the Upper Paraná River Basin (UPRB) in Brazil

LUCC modeling performed with an open-source platform (DINAMICA EGO), joining multiple mappings and the available historical data (protected areas, relief features, and hydrographic/transport network, as well as population and agronomic estimates). The model was designed to simulate a stationary and pessimistic LUCC scenario in which the 1985–2015 transition rate persists for the 2015–2050 period and regeneration processes are not allowed. MapBiomas products were used as historical LULC data and the original maps were reclassified for the classes: 1) Agriculture, 2) Pasture, 3) Water, 4) Urban Infrastructure, 5) Savanna, 6) Planted Forest, and 7) Natural Forest. The scenarios were produced every five years at an approximate spatial resolution of 150 m. The available file contains all the variables and mappings used as reference for the model, as well as the scripts used in DINAMICA EGO, similarity statistics and the final maps produced.
