Drimiopsis of Africa

Drimiopsis is a genus within the family Asparagaceae and originates from tropical and South Africa. Kew’s Herbarium houses over 180 specimens of this genus from Africa. Digitisation plays a key role in enhancing overall access to the Herbarium collections by databasing and imaging the specimens and disseminating these digital collections via the internet. Digital collections not only result in an archived digital backup of the physical collections, but also contributes to the global access of plant diversity.
