As of 2020, 23.41 percent of the urban area in Belgrade, the capital of Serbia, was allocated to open public. In New York, nine percent of the urban area was qualified as public open space.Public open space is defined as a piece of land (green or "hard") which can by accessed by everyone. An example of such area is a public park or a town square.
