Morganella morganii is a widespread Gram-negative bacillus and an uncommon conditional pathogen , which could cause multiple site infections in patients that are immunocompromised or having altered colonization sites. The bacteria of M. morganii are naturally resistant to several antibiotics, with new resistance developed due to the misuse of antibiotics and the spread of resistance genes , leading to the significant challenge to the treatment of the infection caused by this bacterium . In recent years, multi-drug resistant (MDR) strains of M. morganii (MDRMM) have been widely reported , while a study on the genomic epidemiology of M. morganii showed that many resistance genes, e.g., qnrD1, aac(6')-Ib-cr, blaTEM-104, have been widely disseminated.Therefore, it is necessary to study the diversity of drug resistance genes of this bacterium
