Dataset for: Seasonal and scale-dependent effects of paddy type diversity and forest cover on aquatic insect diversity in fallow field biotopes

Dataset on abundances of aquatic insects (Odonata, Hemiptera, Coleoptera) and environmental and landscape factors in fallow field biotopes (n = 42) in Toyooka, Hyogo, Japan (Watanabe et al., manuscript under review). To cover the seasonal occurrence of aquatic insects, surveys were conducted once per season at each permanent biotope in spring (24 April–15 May 2023), summer (19 June–10 July 2023), autumn (25 September–8 October 2023), and winter (20 January–13 February 2024). To protect endangered species, the exact locations of the study sites are not disclosed. Exact XY coordinate data will be provided by the corresponding author after reasonable request.
