Replication code for: Contextual threat perceptions and the prevalence and incidence of chronic disease among older immigrants across 24 European countries

This repository contains the Stata replication code for the article "Contextual threat perceptions and the prevalence and incidence of chronic disease among older immigrants across 24 European countries" (Social Science & Medicine). The study links country-level measures of overall, realistic, and symbolic threat perceptions derived from the European Social Survey (ESS Rounds 2-10) to individual-level health data from the Survey of Health, Ageing and Retirement in Europe (SHARE Waves 1-9) and the English Longitudinal Study of Ageing (ELSA), covering the period 2004-2022. The code estimates clustered logistic regression models for chronic disease prevalence and Weibull survival models for disease incidence among older immigrants. The archive includes a master do-file (0_master.do), five data preparation files, the main analysis file (6_Analysis.do, organized into sections mapped to each table in the manuscript), a supplementary analysis file for the foreign-born population share (7_ForeignBornShare_SupplementA.do), and a README with detailed instructions. No survey data are included in this repository. SHARE, ELSA, and ESS data are publicly available to registered researchers from the original data providers, whose conditions of use prevent redistribution. See the README for data access details.
