Study on Liver Transcriptome in Pig Fed Macleaya Cordata Extract

The Macleaya cordata extract (MCE, containing 40% sanguinarine (SA), 20% chelerythrine (CHE), and 40% sulfate) have been widely used in veterinary clinics and even as promoters of animal growth. However, a lack of available genomic information has become a limitation for research on this species. Therefore, we carried out high-throughput transcriptomic sequencing to investigate the changes of liver transcriptome after long-term feeding of Macleaya cordata extract in pigs, and some key candidate genes were identified, laying a foundation for the study of molecular mechanism of Macleaya cordata extract pharmacological activity.
