Northern Gulf Resource Management Group Fauna Survey

Contains data on terrestrial vertebrate fauna of Queensland. Compiled from a series of on-ground terrestrial surveys undertaken by CSIRO in the Northern Gulf NRM Region, employing standardised methods to investigate and recommend a methodology for monitoring biodiversity condition in the Northern Gulf grazing lands. The surveys specifically measured species and which species preferred different landtypes. Also recorded was habitat attributes including tree diversity, cover, species richness and woody debris. This dataset only contains fauna data and not habitat or flora data.
This dataset was created to help understand how to manage and maintain and monitor biodiversity values within grazing systems. Once the fauna data from the on ground surveys was compiled there followed testing against biodiversity condition assessment metrics.
